Moms are a force to be reckoned with online

eM+C writes of a subject that shouldn't surprise us, that moms are a strong force in the online world. Here are just a couple of the stats that struck me:
  • Moms comprise more than 40 percent of the adult female Internet population
  • 85 percent of online moms use e-mail
  • 64 percent pay bills
  • 57 percent read news
  • 49 percent research products
  • 45 percent shop for children
  • 44 percent shop for self
  • 69.4 percent of U.S. moms visited one or more social media sites in March 2009

Silicon Valley Envy Is a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

Below is the breakdown of the startups and acquisitions of the top 15 states, according to TechCrunch in their post today entitled, Are Silicon Valley Startups More Likely to be Acquired. No surprise, Silicon Valley dominates, followed by NY, MA, TX and WA. Sadly, Arizona (where I reside and choose to call home) is at the bottom of the list, again not really a surprise.
